We have researched and searched far and wide for unusual and
extraordinary coffees and have entered into partnerships with various exotic
origins in order to launch their coffees into the marketplace.
The mission of Sea Island Coffee Ltd. is to introduce gradually these
coffees into the European market combining our knowledge in sourcing rare
coffees with our marketing and service expertise within Europe.
The coffees we are introducing are EXOTIC COFFEES.
These coffees are very rare and exotic, are produced in an artisan way,
have attractive stories and, above all, are produced in very limited
quantities - in other words, they are unique.
The reason we decided to go ahead with this new
concept of
EXOTIC COFFEES is because we felt that there is a segment
of the market that is always looking for different "coffee experiences" beyond
the conventional and common origins such as Colombia, Costa Rica,
Guatemala, Brazil and Kenya,among others.
This segment of the market is getting "bored" with the same conventional
coffee origins. We consider that these consumers will gladly experience
these exotic origins.
One thing to bear in mind is that, in the case of the Exotic Coffees, one
has to consider the "whole coffee experience" for the consumer.
Traditionally, green coffee buyers at roasting companies had an exclusive
focus on the intrinsic cup quality of coffee (acidity, body, aroma,
character, etc.), which constituted a "cup quality" centred approach with
regard to the "whole coffee experience" concept.
However, not all of the Exotic Coffees have conventional cup quality, but
this does not mean that they will not appeal to the consumer, some have
unconventional and extraordinary cup qualities and are all the more
interesting for it.
We consider that, besides cup quality, the "whole coffee experience"
includes intangibles such as the rareness of the coffee, the exotic origin
of the coffee and the particular history (story) surrounding the coffee.
These are all an important part of the "whole coffee experience" and have an
effect on the consumer appeal of a coffee.

We deliver the coffee to our customers applying, as far as possible, the
Just In Time principle to provide for the quickest possible delivery times
from stocks held in Antwerp. We will also deliver in minimum quantities of
5 kilos should the client require smaller volumes.
