Climate / Geography
Tenerife is the largest of the seven islands that make up the Canary Islands. The island is volcanic in origin, hence the soil is particularly well suited to the growth of high quality coffee. The constant tradewinds further create an ideal micro-climate with humidity from the cold North Atlantic Ocean forming high cloud banks over the sunny island which shade the coffee naturally.
- Altitude: 375
- Method: Fully washed
Coffee was introduced to the Canary Islands back in 1788 by King Carlos III. Today the production of coffee on the Canary Islands is characterized by very small quantities by small producers, the finest of which is the Finca Sanssouci Estate.
